Online travel specialists TravelBird have released a study ranking international cities according to how welcome they are in relation to their levels of over-tourism. Singapore is revealed as the most welcoming city, successfully managing their high visitor levels with the best airport in the world and cultivation of a safe city ecosystem. Warsaw, Poland ranks in position number 79.


They first analysed the global top 500 tourist destinations (taken from the UN-WTO) based on factors that can make a visitor feel welcome, such as a welcoming port of entry (airport, train station etc.), citizens’ happiness, safety, openness to host tourists, and English language proficiency. Furthermore, they ran an expert poll asking over 15,000 travel journalists how welcoming they found each city based on their personal experiences.




Further findings from this study:

•    Copenhagen, Denmark is the most welcoming city according to travel experts.
•    Singapore scores the best for port of entry.
•    Abu Dhabi, UAE is the safest city in the index.
•    Oslo, Norway is the happiest city.
•    Dublin, Ireland scores highest for English proficiency.
•    Paris, France are the most willing to open their homes to tourists in this study.
•    Doha, Qatar, Manama, Bahrain and Lima, Peru have the lowest levels of over-tourism.
•    The Netherlands is home to cities that feature in both the top 10 and bottom 10 for over-tourism. Amsterdam ranks as the 3rd worst city for over-tourism, while Rotterdam ranks as the 4th best city for low levels of over-tourism.

Warsaw was listed among the top 10 nightlife destinations worldwide, ahead of New York, in a ranking released by travel website Hostelworld.com


The Polish capital came ninth in the ranking, which was compiled from opinions by 4,000 Internet users on 41 cities in 27 countries around the world.

Criteria considered in the poll included prices, security, nightclub offers, accommodation and the friendliness of locals.

The top picks in the list were Hamburg, Copenhagen and Berlin.

Warsaw outpaced New York, which came tenth in the ranking.

Metropolises such as Paris, Barcelona and London were not included in the top 20.

Warsaw made the top 10 chiefly owing to its value for money among foreign tourists --the city ranked second on the list of places where you can party for less than GBP 30.

The authors of the poll recommend taking a late-night stroll along Warsaw’s “charming” alleyways as well as having a look at the city’s street art.

Warsaw Business Run is a relay run which is organized annually in the capital city of Warsaw in Poland. Competing teams consist of 5 runners. Teams are completed by corporations taking part. Warsaw Business Run 2016 will take place on 4th September.

This year once again teams will run to help the beneficiaries of Beyond Horizons Foundation. Beneficiaries are mostly amputees, who get a chance for a new life. 

Warsaw Business Run is not just athletes who run to help, it is also the volunteers, without whom there is no question about the success of this noble initiative.

The distance to cover for a single participant in a five members’ team is 4,2 km which gives a total of 21 km for the whole team.

Warsaw Business Run is a part of Poland Business run, which takes part in other major Polish cities.
